West Bengal has seen a major political change after the election results brought a strong win for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The party secured 207 seats in the 294-member state assembly, ending the 15-year-long rule of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). This result marks a turning point in the state’s political history.
Among the winning candidates, Rudranil Ghosh of the BJP won the Shibpur assembly seat. His victory quickly became a talking point not just in politics but also in the entertainment world, as he has long been connected to the Bengali film industry.

Soon after the results, rumours began spreading that popular actor Prosenjit Chatterjee had personally called Rudranil Ghosh to congratulate him on his win.

As the speculation spread, Prosenjit Chatterjee decided to speak directly to the public. Through a Facebook post, he strongly denied the rumours about calling Rudranil Ghosh.
He wrote that he has always worked in the film industry with respect and wishes to continue the same in the future. He clearly requested people not to attach political meaning to his name.
According to him, he did not call anyone. Instead, he explained that Rudranil’s younger brother had called him.
Prosenjit added that as an elder, it is his responsibility to give blessings, and that is exactly what he did. He stressed that his action had no political connection at all.
The actor also reminded everyone that he has never been part of politics, has never contested any election, and prefers to stay away from political discussions.
He also mentioned that he has worked with Rudranil Ghosh in several Bengali films over the years, which is why their bond is personal and professional, not political.
